So, in your art of bridge, are you controlling change? Are you on Nick Nickel’s short list? Does Eric Rodwell call you in the middle of the night for help with a convoluted bidding sequence he just can’t quite untangle? Are nubile bridge roadees lined up to jump in bed with you as soon as leave the bridge table (if not before)? Are you making more money playing bridge than at your “day job”? No? No? No? No? Then I have a question for you. If not for fame, why do you play bridge? If not for recognition, why do you play bridge? If not for sex, why do you play bridge? If not for wealth, why do you play bridge? Simple, hmmm? You play bridge to win. O.K., so you play bridge to win. When was the last time you were a member of the winning Bermuda Bowl team? How many North American championships have you claimed? How about regional championships? Maybe a few sectional titles? And what about your performance at the local level? Mmmm, name’s not up in the marquee’s bright lights? Well, don’t buy shades and sunscreen, yet. Other factors being equal – and they are, you can’t compete against those having more bridge money, bridge time, and bridge experience. Those are their advantages. Unless you’re a prodigy or somehow exponentially acquire sufficient bridge assets to be on equal financial, temporal, and experiential planes, you will never beat the beaters at their game, with their rules, on their field. They have the edge and you’re playing to that edge. To change your potential for winning, you must both dull and negate the opponents’ edge and hone and affirm an edge of your own. This means change. Establishing the systemic and attitudinal bases to begin that change is the purpose of Nemesss.Sys. The title says it all: A Map of Destiny: Bridging the Chasm between the injustices of your Life …Nemesss.Sys… and the validation of your Dreams. This is your personal mandate for controlling your personal change in winning at Bridge. And, just beyond (the) Bridge is the rest of your life… MkM, GateKeeper |

| Forbidden generosity - "There is not enough love and goodness in the world for us to be permitted to give any of it away to imaginary things." -from Nietzsche's Human, all too Human |
| Dunes of Hypocrisy When all you could think of yourself is a mockery to those who are; when your essence has settled to the bottom of a dusty, cracked jar; pushed to the back of a crowded top shelf, waiting for the final clumsy shove... to fall into an invisible shatter behind the brittle brown wall of high struts and low stands thrown up by juvenile architects sketching grown up: Then is the time to take note, to change 'were' things around, to upset the balance of rote, to turn 'are' upside down. Civil disobedience plays well from civility's view, but personal anarchy reigns best when it's them or you. When you can't find the peace of your mind to make it through the never beginning end: then is the time to recapture the moment, to jerk free, reversing the end of torment, to seize the dowsing rod of fortune, to fork it up the asses in ruin: who would point you in the direction of their arid desert for a drink of destiny amid their grinding, gritty self-aggrandizement blowing blindly across the dunes of their hypocrisy in empty, bloated tunes of their equality and equity. from Out of Sync, At the Abyss by Michael K.
